In the current geopolitical climate, relying exclusively on American cloud providers is something more companies are questioning. Especially when it comes to storing sensitive data or running AI applications. However, it’s entirely possible to address these concerns. Piros has joined forces with IONOS, the largest European provider of sovereign cloud, to do just that.
We all know the established cloud giants: Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, and Alibaba Cloud. We’re also all familiar with the reservations that companies are increasingly expressing. Without exception, these providers are based in the US and China. For a long time, that wasn’t an issue for most of us, but today it just might be.
Fortunately, we’re seeing more European initiatives that make it possible to run AI and other cloud applications in European data centers. To support this from development through to hosting, we have partnered with Europe’s largest sovereign cloud provider, IONOS.
Red Hat certified
We didn’t choose IONOS, a German-based company, at random. “An important condition was, of course, that the offering is fully certified for Red Hat,” says Angelo Jacobs, Business Development Manager at Piros. “And not just for part of the portfolio. Certification for Red Hat OpenShift is essential for us, as the combination of virtualization and containerization is the future, including for the sovereign cloud.”
IONOS is indeed 100% Red Hat certified. “IONOS is the largest player in Europe for sovereign cloud,” continues Jacobs. With more than enough capacity in its own data centers. Many big names are already customers: Legrand, the global player in electrical and digital infrastructure, Finnair, BMW, Toyota, and warehouse specialist Jungheinrich all rely on IONOS.”
The future is 100% sovereign with Piros
Do you want to store sensitive data in the cloud or run AI applications involving sensitive data? Then trust us to provide a 100% sovereign, fully OpenShift-compatible cloud solution.
“That’s no longer just a pipe dream; it’s already happening today. And that means it’s sovereign from the very first step, where you virtualize your servers to flexibly distribute computing. And storage capacity across AI applications, through to end-to-end automated management of those applications. After all, that’s exactly what Red Hat OpenShift makes possible.”
So, what exactly does the offering look like in practice? “We provide a total solution,” says Jacobs. “From defining the use case and implementing hardware and software. All the way to providing the necessary space in the sovereign cloud within OpenShift, where companies run and train AI and other applications. We offer this in various sizes, so that you only ever pay for what you really need. And we can even make the sovereign cloud available for just a few hours if you need to carry out a specific task at a particular time. The possibilities are endless.”
