It can handle very high ingestion rates (many samples per second) without requiring huge resource overhead. Supports both single-node and clustered modes, so you can scale out as your monitoring needs grow.

Efficient Use of Storage (Compression & Resource Usage)

Very good compression, reducing disk usage compared to many alternatives, which lowers cost. Lower RAM & CPU usage relative to systems like vanilla Prometheus, particularly at scale.

Long-Term Retention & Durability

Designed for storing data over longer retention periods without drastically degrading performance. Provides backup tools (snapshots etc.) and cluster replication/HA options for resilience.

Compatibility & Ecosystem Integration
